Early cello

An  early cello, probably English 18th century.Wide top bouts to the body and penned "pufling . No makers name but various repairs inscriptions inside, the earliest being 1837. In sound condition but has had numerous repairs over the years including a major one to the back (neatly and soundly carried out inside and out) Playing order with a good sound and can be used as is is, but no doubt could be improved. Some of the varnish has oxidised as can be seen in the photos but seems to add to its charm. Length of back 76cm (30inches). £675
