Minstrel Banjo

An interesting 19th century fretless  5 string  minstrel banjo. Circa 1875.  Wooden  hoop and resonator. Ebony fingerboard with wooden flush fretmarkers (some missing) Vellum head with screw tensioners. Brass rim to the resonator. Peg tuning. Probably originally used with gut strings. Tail piece a replacement. A mellow sound. No makers name.  £225
